Welcome to Ribble Class!Year 1 children hard at workYear 1 children hard at work

Ribble Class is home to our EYFS and Key Stage 1 children and is taught by Mrs Hailwood on Mondays - Wednesdays and Mrs Evans on Thursdays and Fridays.  Additional support is also provided by Mrs Hobson and Mrs Allman to support our children.

Learning is fun in Ribble and we blend the important elements of play with the more formal expectations associated with children as they grow up.   To find out about what we are learning about at school and when please click on the link below:

Phonics Screening - A Guide for Parents

Every day your child needs to bring their book bag with reading book and reading record book in.  Each time you read at home, please make a note in the reading record book.

School provides your child with a water bottle but please provide a fruit or vegetable snack for afternoon playtime. It can be a dried fruit snack but please  no biscuits or crackers.

Our PE days will be swimming on Wednesdays and Invasion games on Thursdays. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school at all times. Long hair needs to be tied back for PE days, and earrings taken out or tape sent in for them to be covered up.

Our Long Term Plan can be accessed by clicking here!

Ribble Homework

Homework for the Year1 and Year2 children is set half termly. A list of tasks is sent home in their Homework books and the children can select which task they will complete each fortnight. Sharing our homeworkSharing our homework

Spellings are set weekly and are tested on Fridays.

Maths instant recall facts are sent home each half term and are regularly used and tested within class teaching time.
